Question #1How does Penn State stop the Minnesota offense (a/k/a Eric Decker)?
While the secondary is relatively sound (beyond my expectations), I think the defensive front seven is the key to stopping any offense, including Minnesota. Decker is very talented, but if Adam Weber doesn't have time to get off long passes, it really removes Decker as a deep threat. Sure there will be some 7, 8, or 9 yard passes - look at what EIU did last week - but the long ball will be a long shot for Minnesota.
Question #3Mid-point of the season, which of the PSU freshmen do you project as future stars?
I'm glad this question uses the word "freshmen" instead of "freshman". First player that comes to mind (without thinking - pure free association) is Gerald Hodges. He will an impact player whether he plays safety or linebacker. Next on the list, with minor thinking is Justin Brown, but that was fresh from his performance last Saturday. After Brown would be Devon Smith. I can't wait until he is "allowed" to field punts and there is some actual blocking on special teams. Smith will be a consistent added dimension on offense that will keep defenses off-balanced.
Lightning Round 1. Where were you when Minnesota got lucky because Penn State did not put them away at Homecoming '99?
Quote this article on your siteI was flying home from Hong Kong. Yes, the pilot gave score updates over the intercom.2. Will Minnesota open with an on-side kick?
Nope.3. What is your best homecoming memory (that you can say in this forum at least :p)?
Hmmm, that is a tough one considering the constraints. I'd have to say any homecoming that includes tailgating with old college buddies - don't want to single anyone or leave anyone out. It's about being with friends and family.
